Jeremiah Tiangco shared a recorded conversation with someone who pretended to be Jun Lana
Sparkle GMA Artist Center artist Jeremiah Tiangco exposed a casting scam using the name and identity of GMA executive Annette Gozon and director Jun Lana.
With social media, communication has become easier. However, this is also being used by many people to take advantage of other people. Even celebrities now are being scammed, just like what happened to Jeremiah.
The second grand champion of GMA Network’s singing competition The Clash, shared a video that showed the conversation he had with a person who pretended to be Direk Jun.
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz shared in a recent episode of his Showbiz Update vlog about scammers who are pretending to be Viva’s Boss Vic del Rosario and Direk Jun Lana.
Ogie said that these scammers would ask male celebrities if they were ready to do sultry movies and take off their clothes in front of the camera.
Then, the talent manager-vlogger recalled that there was an actress whose husband fell victim to this scam. The scammer blackmailed the male celebrity that his private video would be released if he did not pay a certain amount. The wife dared the scammer to release the video.
With this, Ogie cited what happened to Jeremiah Tiangco as the best example of being aware. The singer recorded the video conference that he had with the fake Jun Lana.
It can be heard that the scammer was first checking if Jeremiah was alone and ordered him to fix his phone camera for him to be seen clearly. He was told that he is being considered to be a cast member in a movie that will be an entry for the Tokyo International Film Festival. The fake Direk Jun also mentioned that in this movie, Lovi Poe, Ivana Alawi, and Joem Basco were already named as cast members and that hopefully, Jeremiah will complete the cast.
The video was cut and then, Jeremiah showed the conversation he had with fake Annette Gozon. He also showed the number used by that person for the public to be more careful.
Ogie Diaz shared that Jeremiah Tiangco did not take off his clothes when the fake director asked him to do that.
