Albie Casiño was asked about the hottest issue now in the entertainment industry
Actor Albie Casiño shared his thoughts on harassment in showbiz that has become a national issue and complainants actor Sandro Muhlach and singer-actor Gerald Santos were invited to the Senate hearing.
Although the Sandro has already filed a case at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz, the Senate Committee on Public Information and Mass Media invited him to the hearing regarding harassment in the industry.
Gerald shared in a recent hearing that his camp has been exploring the legal actions that they can do agains his alleged abuser musical director Danny Tan who allegedly harassed him when he was just 15 years old.
Aside from them, actor Ahron Villena also shared on social media what he allegedly experienced from a director and a news researcher in the Kapatid network also accused his superior of harassing him.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Albie Casiño was asked what he can say about the showbiz harassment. The actor stressed that he is speaking for himself and he is saying his thoughts based on what he experienced.
Albie said that so far, he has not experienced or felt that he was harassed or violated. “Never naman may nangyari where I felt taken advantage of. Never! I’ve worked with multiple directors and I’ve had to wear plaster multiple times, and I’ve never felt violated,” the actor shared.
He is thankful that nothing like that happened to him but he is not invalidating what other actors or male personalities have experienced in the past.
Just recently, director Joel Lamangan’s name was involved in this issue after he spoke about it. He said that harassment in showbiz has been happening for a long time already and it has become a stepping stone for some personalities, and the incidents are not just being revealed.
After that Ahron Villena shared his controversial post slamming a certain director for allegedly being “proud” of the harassment. The actor also said that he was a victim of the said director.
Albie Casiño said, without mentioning the name of the director, that he never had a bad experience with him. “I want to say something kasi I feel like this director I’ve worked with before is kinda under fire. But like I said, I’ve worked with him and nothing bad ever happened,” he said.
