Ogie Alcasid slammed this fake news
OPM icon Ogie Alcasid answered a rumor about his marital status with his wife Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez.
Ogie and Regine got married in 2010 and they are blessed with a son named Nate. Despite their strong relationship, they still became subjects of breakup rumors once in a while.
Back in June 2022, it was rumored that their marriage was on the rocks. Ogie immediately debunked this through a post on Twitter, now known as X. He stressed that he and Regine are so much in love with each other.
In October of the same year, Regine also addressed those who wished her marriage to Ogie would fail. She said these people would pretend that they cared but were anticipating seeing them separate.
Just recently, a rumor once again circulated about the marital status of Ogie and Regine, especially on Facebook. It was alleged that the Asia’s Songbird is processing the divorce papers after an alleged cheating happened.
A Facebook post has this title: “Regine Velasquez Pinaasikaso na Divorce Papers nila ni Ogie Alcasid matapos ng Pagtataksil!”
Ogie shared this on his page on Threads. He said that this was sent to him and it saddened him that someone would create a fabricated story about him and his wife. He asked his social media followers to report that FB page.
In the comment section of his post, Ogie received support from netizens. His and Regine’s fans also assured him that they would never believe this kind of rumor and that they already reported the page. “Mga wlang magawa kc Yan kua eh magkakalat ng fake news para kumita,” a netizen commented.
A netizen even suggested that Ogie can file a complaint at the National Bureau of Investigation just like what actor Mon Confiado did against a netizen who posted a fabricated story about him.
