GMA Network asserted that it against any form or abuse
GMA Network release a statement on the complaint filed by singer-actor Gerald Santos about the alleged harassment he experienced from a musical director.
Gerald started speaking about what happened to him 19 years ago after Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach revealed what happened to him after the GMA Gala. Sandro was allegedly harassed by GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.
With this, Gerald spoke about the same experience he had when he was just 15 years old. the singer-actor was invited during the Senate hearing on August 19.
Gerald Santos stressed that he was not harassed nor abused. He said that he was r@ped and that there was advances made by the musical director several times. The singer-actor also shared that he experienced power tripping from that musical director when he refused.
Following Gerald’s revelation during the Senate hearing, GMA Network released a statement condemning any form of abuse. The media company stressed that it tokk an immediate action regarding the complaint filed by Gerald in 2010.
GMA terminated the musical director who allegedly abused the singer-actor and no longer hired him in any project.
However, the network stressed that what Gerald stated in his complaint in 2010 is different from what he said in his 2024 statement during the Senate hearing. The company said that it is only now that they knew about the “rape” complaint.
GMA Network also reacted to Gerald Santos’s statement that he was released by the network after what happened. The media company stressed that it was the singer-actor who asked to be released earlier than the end of his contract and was later on seen on different channels. GMA also said that the singer-actor tried to go back to the network after his contract with TV5 ended in 2013.
