The manager of Gerald Santos answered a netizen’s question
Singer Gerald Santos made a shocking revelation just recently after the controversy that surfaced involving Kapuso newbie actor Sandro Muhlach.
To recall, Sandro filed a complaint against GMA independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz for allegedly harassing him in their hotel room after the GMA Gala 2024. It was said that the son of seasoned actor Nino Muhlach was traumatized by what he experienced.
Sandro received support and sympathy from the online community after he made a shocking revelation. Gerald also wrote a message for Sandro saying that he hopes the newbie actor will get the justice that he once denied of.
In his Facebook post, Gerald Santos revealed that he was also harassed when he was starting in the entertainment industry. However, back then, there was no social media that could easily cater to a person’s grievances.
Recalling what happened to him years ago, Gerald said that he got emotional but he is proud of himself for standing up. This post that the singer shared received a comment from a netizen who wanted to know deeper about the “injustice” that Gerald experienced back then.
The netizen pointed out that the person that received complaint from Gerald was already dismissed and is no longer in GMA.
Rommel Ramilo, the manager of the singer, replied to the netizen saying that there was no clear or concrete solution that was made at that time regarding the case and this remained until now.
Although Gerald’s “abuser” was dismissed, the manager said that the singer was treated like an outcast in the network for revealing what happened to the top level management.
Ramilo also said that Gerald was given very few projects after his revelation until the time came when no work was given to him. “We were trying to forge a compromise with them but he was released instead,” Gerald’s manager said.
Ramilo added that the singer is still virtually banned from appearing in GMA’s entertainment shows. He asked the netizen if there was justice in this. The manager stressed that they had to go through lonely battles with a giant network.
In another reply, the manager said that Gerald Santos was a minor back then, 15 years old to be exact.
As of this writing, GMA Network has not released a statement regarding the resurfacing of the issue about the singer who was one of the contestants in Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2006.
