Dina Bonnevie talked about her experience of being “clinically dead”
Seasoned actress Dina Bonnevie revealed that she had a near-death experience and this brought a remarkable change in her life.
Dina has been in the entertainment industry for many decades already. Her experiences in showbiz have brought her to where she is now in the industry.
Her journey in showbiz has become an inspiration to many younger artists and she continue to do this.
In her personal life, Dina also went through a lot and this molded her into what she is now. In a recent interview on seasoned actress Amy Austria’s YouTube channel, based on the article in PEP, Dina talked about one moment that changed her life for the better.
The seasoned actress shared that she had a near-death experience when she was just 33 years old. At that time, Dina said that she was experiencing great challenges when it came to her work, marriage, and health.
She shared that she was already “clinically dead”. “Actually, na-clinically dead ako for a minute and 10 seconds. Siguro overfatigue kasi that time ang dami-dami kong ginagawang pelikula, sabay-sabay. And then nagda-dubbing ako, and I was promoting yung movie ko,” the actress shared.
It was the time when she guested on Lovely Ness of Alma Moreno and they had a dance performance together. They had a lifting choreography and a smoke machine was used for that number. Dina said that she was allergic to that smoke machine.
“Right after, parang kulang na lang bumagsak ako. Tumakbo na ako sa kotse. Pagdating sa bahay, ang nakita ko si Danica. Ang una ko lang nasabi was, ‘Danica, call Ninang Doctor,’” she shared and she fainted in the bathroom when she was trying to wash her face.
Going to the hospital, Dina said that she could no longer see anything. “Super asphyxiated na ako. Parang nagba-violet na ako dahil I couldn’t breathe,” she said and she heard the doctor say, “Put her on two liters of oxygen.’ ‘Doc, no response.’”
A few minutes later, Dina could not hear anything already. “Sabi ko, ‘Anong nangyari? Bakit biglang tumahimik… na parang where’s everybody? Okey na ba ako?” she said. Then, Dina said that she stood up and saw her sibling looking at the electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) monitor.
Dina said that she told her sibling that she wanted to go home because she was already tired but her sibling did not hear her. When she tried to touch her sibling, Dina said that her hand just went through. Then, she heard her sibling crying and she saw the monitor and it showed a flatline.
The actress said that she felt nervous after that. “Then para akong pumasok sa mahabang-mahabang roller coaster ride na napakadilim,” she said.
“Parang from the long tunnel, lumabas ako. ‘Tapos biglang hindi ko lang talaga totally ma-describe. Hindi totoo yung mga harp-harp music na yan. Hindi yan yung narinig ko. It’s just talagang pure peacefulness, calmness. Yun talagang parang totally na-uplift ako, na parang, wow, ang sarap ng feeling na ito. Parang ganoon yung feeling…” she shared.
Then, Dina said that the light was talking to her telepathically. There was no voice but the light was trying to say something to her. The actress said she had already gone with the light but she remembered something and it was her daughter Danica Sotto. She heard, “Ma” from Danica who was at the end of the tunnel, and when she held her daughter’s hand, was time she woke up and she was being revived at that moment.
Because of that experience, Dina Bonnevie said that she gave importance to her spirituality.
