Kapuso Primetime Queen Marian Rivera refused to have a stunt double for the Cinemalaya entry Balota.

Marian has done a lot of films in the history of her career in the Philippine entertainment industry. She has done drama, comedy, romantic comedy, and horror. The A-list actress also did some action for her superhero TV shows.

Last April, it was announced that Marian will star in a Cinemalaya film. This is a film by Kip Oebanda and based on its logline from Cinemalaya’s website, this is about a teacher’s plight to save the last copy of the election results.Β

Emmy runs into the wilderness with a ballot box in a small town where a land-grabbing tycoon and a former s=xy male actor are locked in a tight race for mayor. “Emmy and the community try to outsmart and outmaneuver the goons who want the elections to fail,” part of the logline stated.

In a recent interview by TV5 entertainment reporter MJ Marfori, Marian Rivera showed the wound on her arm. When asked what happened, she said that the scenes they did were “masalimuot.”

They had to do scenes in the forest and she had to run. “Hindi ako nagpapa-double kasi, so ako lang,” the actress revealed about not having a stunt double in action-filled scenes.

Marian said that she likes to experience these kinds of scenes. “Sayang naman ang pagkakataon na magawa ko ang mga bagay bagay na ito,” the wife of Dingdong Dantes shared.

She also shared that in her role in this Cinemalaya film, she was deglamorized. Marian stressed that she did not wear makeup at all not like in teleseryes in which she would just have the “no makeup” look but still, there was makeup.

Marian Rivera also expressed gratitude that this project was given to her. For the actress, this movie seemed to be at the highest level of her acting career. She said that doing her iconic roles, Marimar, Dyesebel, and Darna boosted her career and paved the way to where she is now but for Balota, it is the “pinakarurok” of her experience and the newest that she encountered in her showbiz career.
