Ogie Diaz shared his thoughts on Rayver Cruz’s viral video
Talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz said that Kapuso actor Rayver Cruz’s “behavior” in his viral video was not how he knew him because they were able to be together before.
Rayver went viral after netizens bashed him because of his attitude while having a live-streaming with his girlfriend Asia’s Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose. Netizens did not like how he acted. For them, he was trying to be funny that it was already cringy.
He was also attacked for allegedly pulling Julie’s hair. Rayver explained through his post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The actor apologized to those who were offended by his gesture and explained that he would never hurt Julie Anne. In a recent interview, the singer-actress defended her boyfriend and explained his gesture. She said that Rayver was just cheering her up because she was feeling not well at that time and she had a lot on her mind.
In a recent episode of Ogie Diaz’s Showbiz Update vlog, he and his co-hosts Mama Loi and Tita Jegs talked about this issue.
Ogie said that the online community is more inclined to talk about negative things, and this is the reason why personalities would create controversies sometimes. “Mas authentic daw, mas raw,” he said. However, Ogie was not saying that what Julie Anne and Rayver did was scripted. He was talking about another couple who keeps on singing online.
The talent manager-vlogger also said that because of the viral video, other people who do not know about Rayver and Julie Anne as a reel and real-life couple now have an idea of them.
Ogie also stressed that this is a lesson learned for Rayver and that next time, he should be mindful of his actions, especially in front of the camera. The talent manager-vlogger also mentioned the actor’s statement that he was just being himself that’s how he really is and people who know him know his personality.
Ogie Diaz pointed out that he had the chance to spend time with Rayver Cruz and he is not like that. “Kahit ako, nakasama ko si Rayver eh, hindi naman siya ganun dati,” he said as an answer to the actor’s statement that people around him can say that his gesture was natural. “Nakasama ko siya dati pero hindi naman siya ganun,” Ogie reiterated.
