Vietnamese Woman Joining PBB
A Vietnamese woman named Up Thuy wants to join the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) as she was asked by “Kuya” during one of its episodes aired in the Philippines.
The 23-year-old Thuy was born in Palawan although her parents were pure Vietnamese. Her family is among the refugees who fled their country during the Vietnam War using boats in the 1970s.
As Thuy, shared her story to Kuya, it is then revealed that their refugee camp has been damaged by fire twice forcing her family to go to Tacloban City.
In a report by ABS-CBN, it is said that Thuy spent more than 12 years there before migrating to the US through the help of a celebrity host there. According to Thuy, the said host helped her family and her studies, too. She is now a graduate from a nursing school and have attained her license just recently.
With this, she asked ‘Kuya’ to let her join the PBB house because according to her, she has a good story she could share with the people who will be watching the show.
Thuy also admitted that she has been watching the PBB during her stay in the Philippines.
When ‘Kuya’ asked if she wanted to become a regular housemate, Thuy replied, “That would be awesome.”
But, in order to do that, the celebrity housemates needed to complete six out of seven tasks to be given in the next days. The report said, the first task given is to sing a translated version of the infamous “Tatlong Bibe” song.
Now, Thuy’s task is not to speak either English or Tagalog and she needs to communicate using the Vietnamese language only.
The Pinoy Big Brother is a reality TV show wherein chosen housemates have the opportunity to share their personal stories and that includes the trials and the challenges they’ve faced and overcome.
