Erik Santos tried his luck in the Kapuso network years ago
Kapamilya singer Erik Santos revealed what happened to his past audition in GMA before he won in a Kapamilya singing competition.
Erik is one of the most balladeers of this generation. His career in the Philippine music industry started after he was hailed as the Search for the Star In A Million Season 1 champion back in 2004. He was destined to get that title because from being the wildcard, he became the champion.
From that, he released songs and became part of ABS-CBN’s Sunday musical variety that is now called ASAP Natin ‘To. Last year, he celebrated on the show his 20th anniversary in showbiz.

Before gaining the success he has, Erik Santos also went through a lot of auditions. In his recent guesting on King of Talk Boy Abunda’s talk show Fast Talk, based on the article in PEP, the singer shared that it was not his first time to be on the Kapuso network.
“Lingid sa kaalaman po ng iba, marami rin po akong mga audition na sinalihan. At isa sa unang auditions ko was here in GMA. Yun po yung hindi alam ng mga tao,” the Kapamilya singer shared. His audition for a spot in a talent search was not a successful endeavor for him.
It was also said that Erik experienced scrutiny from a “mataray” staff member but he did not reveal the identity of the person who did that to him. At that time, the singer was just a newbie in the entertainment industry.
During the Fast Talk interview, Erik revealed that there was a point in his career when his attitude also changed because of his popularity.
“Sa tingin ko po, may moments sa career ko na parang okay lang sa akin na ma-late, ganyan,” the singer said. However, he stressed that it was only for a short time because now he values the time of the people he works with.
Meanwhile, Erik Santos recently announced that he will have a series of concerts in the US and Canada this coming June 2024 and his special guest is SB19’s Heavenly Voice Stell Ajero.
