Arnold Schwarzenegger will not be acting in the immediate future, thus according to his lawyer Patrick Knapp.
The news broke after the revelation of the scandal surrounding the child he fathered while he married to now estranged wife Maria Shriver.
Upon the request of Arnold, based from their official statement, they had already asked Creative Artists Agency to inform all his motion picture projects including those underway or under negotiation to stop planning until further notice.
Schwarzenegger wants to focus on personal matters, that’s why he doesn’t want to be attached to any schedules or timelines for production.
With his decision to stop from acting, the first project that is really affected is ‘Cry Macho’. The said project is currently in pre-production and supposedly, it is his comeback to acting after five years of running and leading California.
Cry Macho producer Albert Ruddy when asked about Schwarzenegger‘s decision choose not to comment. On Tuesday, he said that despite the paternity scandal that involves the actor, the shooting would begin in the 24th of August.
According to Ruddy, “I’ve seen scandal after scandal and after a few months, nobody remembers it. Its totally irrelevant…”
Schwarzenegger’s other projects includes the propose reboot of the Terminator franchise with Megan Ellison’s Annapura Pictures and director Justin Lin (Fast Five), is in the early stages of production development.
On Thursday, the producer of animated series The Governor, starring Schwarzenegger wherein he will portray a superhero role says that the scandal will not impact the show.
Moreover, A2 CEO Andy Heyward said just hours before Schwarzenegger made the announcement that the U.S. broadcaster has not pulled out. Further announcement will be done on June 14 at the Licensing Show, in Las Vegas.
He added that the series is fictional and it is expected that by September 2012, it will be broadcast worldwide.
