Pres. Duterte: NAPC Post Reserved for the Left Not for VP Robredo

The incoming president of the Republic of the Philippines clarified to the media that the Natioanl Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) post is already reserved for the Left or the Communist Party of the Philippines and it is not for Vice President-elect Leni Robredo. The NAPC post is one of the important department of the Duterte administration which will probably fits Vice-President elect Rep. Leni Robredo who earlier vowed to support Pres. Duterte.

According to the 71-year-old outgoing mayor of Davao City and incoming President Rody Duterte, he is shutting down the door of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) on Vice President Leni Robredo, the highest national official from the Liberal Party under the Duterte administration. The position for the anti-poverty commission of the Duterte administration or the NAPC post was already reserved to the Left-leaning movement.

Pres. Duterte noted that he would give the NAPC to another woman particularly from the left probably recommended by the National Democratic Front (NDF) and the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP).

The incoming president already opened his Cabinet post to three other leftist-former Anakpawis Rep. Rafael Mariano as Agrarian Reform Secretary. activist University of the Philippines Prof. Judy Taguiwalo as Social Welfare Secretary, and former Anakpawis Rep. Joel Maglungsod as Labor Undersecretary.

In an earlier interview with the press, Duterte’s chosen NEDA chief Ernesto Pernia suggested to the newly-elected President that Rep. Leni Robredo who is an economics graduate would be better fit for the job at the Natioanl Anti-Poverty Commission (NACP).

Pres. Duterte on his part already made his decision on the NACP post and noted that he will give it to the Left or the Communist Party. He stated that he had the recommendation from the Left side and he will definitely give it to them because he is willing to concede the anti-poverty commission to pave the way for the resumption of the botched peace talks with the communist-led NDF.
