A Detailed Review Of The ASUS ROG Flow X13 (2023) Laptop
ASUS ROG FLOW X13 (2023) – Here is a thorough and detailed evaluation of the ASUS ROG Flow X13 (2023), highlighting its positive aspects as well as its drawbacks.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13 (2023) stands out as a premium ultraportable gaming laptop, succeeding the ASUS ROG Flow X13 (GV301) from 2022. The 2023 iteration boasts numerous enhancements over its predecessor. These include an upgraded AMD Ryzen 9 7945HS CPU and various NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40-series GPU choices, with the most powerful option being the RTX 4070 running at a TGP of 60W and equipped with Dynamic Boost.
The connectivity options have also been improved, with the addition of a USB 4.0 port offering 130W Power Delivery, a MicroSD card reader, and support for HDMI 2.1. Additionally, it features an enhanced 1080p IR camera and a larger 75Wh battery. The choice of display depends on the model; the base version, equipped with integrated graphics, features an FHD+ (1920 x 1200) 120Hz screen, whereas models with a discrete NVIDIA GPU come with a QHD+ (2560 x 1600) 165Hz panel. Similar to the 2022 model, it retains a proprietary PCIe port, which can be used to connect ASUS’ ROG XG Mobile Interface (sold separately), providing access to a more potent NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU (150W) and additional ports.
The ASUS ROG Flow X13 excels in gaming performance thanks to its robust AMD Ryzen 9 CPU, and it offers the flexibility to configure the laptop with a dedicated NVIDIA GPU, going up to the RTX 4070. Furthermore, the proprietary port allows you to attach ASUS’ ROG XG Mobile Interface, enabling access to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU for an even smoother gaming experience. It’s available with either an FHD+ or QHD+ display, both featuring high refresh rates, swift response times, and VRR support to minimize screen tearing. However, it’s worth noting that the laptop’s RAM cannot be replaced by the user, and it tends to heat up and produce noise under heavy workloads.
