The tough-talking Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City may not be the the leader in the latest survey conducted by the Social Weather Station and Businessworld but his camp claimed that they are gaining more “converts” on the ground. According to Duterte’s national campaign manager, Maribojoc town mayor Leoncio Evasco, the changed in the voter preference of Filipinos is akin to the shifting of sands of Paoay’s sand dunes.
Mayor Duterte’s campaign manager was quoted as saying “We take survey results seriously and we have seen several, including mock polls and social media trending, reinforcing the observation that Duterte is gaining more believers, adherents and converts,” Evasco said in a statement.
The survey results of the Social Weather Station (SWS) might not reflect the real sentiments of the Filipino people according to some netizen, because the founder of SWS, Dr. Mahar Mangahas is the cousin of the late Fernando Poe Jr., the father of Sen. Grace Poe.
Duterte’s camp was also confident that they gained supporters because of the huge support of Filipino people everywhere they go, for their campaign sorties. Based upon the videos and photos posted on social media, among the presidential candidates, only Mayor Duterte could gather hundreds of thousands of his supporters despite the lack of budget.
The Duterte camps also noted that their camp is slowly gaining grounds among Filipinos, and more people are showing their support for the future president of the Philippines, Mayor Rody Duterte.
Duterte’s campaign manager stated “This has become more apparent the last couple of weeks as Mayor Duterte and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano covered more grounds than anybody in the campaign trail,” Evasco said.
