The latest survey results released by the Social Weather station showing that Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is slowly gaining momentum is a good sign for him according to his camp. Mayor Duterte gained some momentum in February 2016 SWS survey, with 24 percent of voters preferring him over other presidentiables.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte gained 4 percentage points and was tied in second place with the former frontrunner, Sen. Grace Poe, whose rating stayed flat between the early part of January and the first week of February 2016.
Although the mayor’s rating is still far below the previously reported survey commissioned by a Davao businessman wherein he dominated the results with 38 percent, Mayor Duterte’s camp finds the results of the latest survey as a good sign that the mayor is indeed one of the top contenders.
The campaign for candidates for President, Vice President, senator and party-list groups began on Feb. 9 and would last until May 7.
Mayor Duterte’s ratings dropped during the past few weeks after the cursing incident against Pope Francis and after he acknowledged that he had several female partners and even admitted to criminals in Davao City.
