The cops who arrested Menorca came under fire from netizens who witness the incident, forcing Menorca’s arrest. Aside from negative comments from netizens, senatorial candidate Leila de Lima also aired her take in the issue.

During an interview with Inquirer, the former Commission on Human Rights Chair, Leila de Lima was quoted as saying “It was really highly irregular and most probably illegal, too,” De Lima said.

“If the basis is the video taken by Menorca’s party, which shows Menorca being dragged by a man in civilian clothes and slippers who was claiming to be a police officer, then that arrest is highly irregular,” she said, referring to the video of the arrest taken by Menorca’s wife, Jinky Otsuka.

The video posted online by Menorca’s wife, Jinky Otsuka have gone viral on YouTube and various social media sites earning mixed reactions from netizens and INC members.
