TVJ is set to start their new show on TV5
Iconic trio TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon) and the original Dabarkads officially signed a contract with TV5.
Days after the viral exodus of the trio from TAPE Inc., the production company behind Eat Bulaga, it was announced that the Kapatid network will be their new home. With this, the noontime slot was discussed.
It was reported that It’s Showtime, the one occupying TV5’s noontime slot until June 30, was offered to occupy the pre-primetime slot.
However, the Kapamilya noontime show refused to accept the offer and decided to have a partnership with GMA’s GTV. It was announced on June 20 that It’s Showtime will air on GTV starting July 1.
On June 20, the contract signing between TVJ and TV5 also happened. In a Twitter post shared by News5, photos showed that the contract signing took place. Tito, Vic, and Joey were joined by comedian Allan K and Phenomenal Star Maine Mendoza.
“Opisyal nang pumirma ng kontrata ang TVJ at ibang #LegitDabarkads sa MediaQuest Holdings Inc. kasama si Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan at ilang big bosses ng kumpanya,” the caption of the post stated.
The post also said that TVJ Productions will be part of the MVP Group of Company and this is to mark their noontime show on the Kapatid network.
During the media conference after the contract signing, other Dabarkads joined the event such as Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, Carren Eistrup, and Ryzza Mae Dizon.
PLDT Inc. Chairman of the Board Manny Pangilinan, MediaQuest CEO and President Jane Jimenez-Basas, and TV5 President and CEO Guido Zaballero are also present during the media conference.
