Sunshine Dizon Charged w/ Estafa Due To Alleged Fake Investment Deal

Sunshine Dizon is facing estafa complaint

Actress Sunshine Dizon is charged with syndicated estafa due to an alleged fake investment deal.

A report from Bilyonaryo stated that the National Bureau of Investigation recommended to the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office to prosecute Sunshine and nine other people for allegedly having a spurious deal that involved a “super club” in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig.

Aside from the actress, Jonathan Rubic Dy, John Marcelle Marcelino, Nino Lisandro Baltazar, Camilla Ana Bote, Cyrus Montesa, and foreign nationals Jonathan Lin, Katushka Rumanova, Kenny Ho, and Coco Yu are facing the same complaint.

Sunshine and her business partners were accused of deceiving the complainants about investing P6 million in Ikon Worldwide Entertainment Inc. It was said that this was for the construction of a “super club” at the nightlife hub The Palace Manila.

The complainants claimed that they have given the investment money to respondents on two occasions in 2022 and this happened at the condominium unit reportedly occupied by Sunshinshine Dizon and Jonathan Rubic Dy located at Sgt. Esguerra St. in Quezon City on two occasions in 2022.

It was said that the complaints thought that something was wrong when the opening of the club was postponed several times. After checking with the management of The Palace Manila, the complainants learned that Ikon Worldwide Entertainment Inc. is not the company managing the club.

In a report, NBI stated, “We issued several subpoenas to Dizon, et. al. to get their explanation, but all the summons were ignored.’’ The bureau also stated that Ikon is not registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission and it is not authorized to solicit investments.

Based on the report, prior to this syndicated estafa complaint, Sunshine Dizon and Jonathan Rubic Dy were accused of having a bogus P10-million investment deal involving online cockfighting (e-sabong). The public prosecutor’s office in Daet, Camarines Sur recommended their prosecution.

As of this writing, the actress has not released a statement yet about this matter.
