PDEG Monitors Entry of New Illegal Drugs Called “Happy Water”

PDEG to Prevent Entry of New Illegal Drugs Called “Happy Water” in the Philippines

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) is now monitoring the new illegal drugs called “happy water” to prevent it from entering the Philippines.

The Philippine National Police (PNP-PDEG) acknowledged the existence of a new illegal substance that is spreading throughout Asia. This is the “Happy Water” that has spread throughout Thailand and Myanmar, which is made up of five synthetic ingredients.

The United Nations has already warned the international community about “Happy Water” and its potential consequences, according to Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Director BGen Faro Antonio Olaguera. According to Olaguera, “Happy Water” is thought to be more harmful than illegal drugs.

Happy Water Illegal Drugs

According to Olaguera, who cited a United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime report, happy water is a synthetic narcotic made up of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu, ecstasy, diazepam, ketamine, and tramadol. Because it is odorless and colorless, it might be used to drug people, particularly those visiting entertainment places, according to Olaguera.

As a result, PDEG is currently in contact with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other agencies in order to prevent its introduction into the country. Olaguera advised partygoers to secure their food and drinks when visiting resto-bars, nightclubs, and other places of entertainment.

Meanwhile, Olaguera cautioned the public, particularly partygoers, not to accept beverages from strangers. This is done in order to avoid becoming a victim of illegal substances.
