GMA Network Drew Flak Over Poll for ASTRO Amid Moonbin Death

GMA Network Poll for K-Pop Group ASTRO Criticized by Fans for Being Insensitive

The online community slammed the GMA network for creating a poll for the K-Pop group ASTRO amid a member’s death.

AROHA, the fandom of the Korean boy band ASTRO, attacked the GMA Network poll on their social media account. Fans are still in mourning following the untimely death of member Moonbin.

“Who’s your bias in K-pop group ASTRO?” may be read in the TV giant’s online poll, and the poll can be found if you visit the story on the website. Such information is considered “rude” and “insensitive” by many fans and even some casual netizens.

GMA ASTRO Poll

This type of content has been removed from the Facebook page. The poll is still available on GMA Network’s news website. The well-known Filipino-run Korean page Saranghaeyo Oppa, who could not believe the TV network’s programming, was among many who opposed it.

Moonbin, 25, died on April 19 at his residence in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, shocking many in the K-pop scene. ASTRO began in 2016, with Cha Eun-woo, Yoon San-ha, MJ, Jinjin, Rocky, and the late Moonbin.

Moonbin and San-ha were last seen by Pinoy fans on March 25 at a fan-meeting event at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City. Meanwhile, GMA Network has yet to respond to the poll’s criticism.
