The Philippine national basketball team moved on to the second round of the 2015 FIBA Asia Championship in Changsa, China. They moved on to the second round with 1-1 carry-over record after a humiliating loss against tournament newcomer Palestine who lead Group B with 2-0 carry-over record.

Gilas Pilipinas will be their toughest challenge in the competition so far they are now bracketed on Group F featuring powerhouse Iran, title contender Japan and the fast-rising dominant basketball team India.
The Filipinos will also battle first Japan on Sunday at around 11:45 AM after the Saturday break. The second game of the second round will feature a rematch of the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship featuring Gilas Pilipinas and powerhouse Iran at around 11:45 AM of September 28, 2015.
On September 29, Gilas Pilipinas will face India at around 2:30 AM. In order to secure a spot in the knockout playoffs, Gilas Pilipinas needs to two wins in the second round but if the Filipinos wants a lighter opponent n the knockout stage they must win three games in a row including beating the defending champion Iran.
During the resumption of the FIBA Asia Championship 2015 on Sunday, the other schedule of games are South Korea vs. Lebanon, Qatar vs. Jordan, Palestine vs. India, and Iran vs. Hong Kong.
