Andre Yllana admitted that he still talk to Aiko Melendez before accepting a project
Actor Andre Yllana revealed that his mother seasoned actress Aiko Melendez is a “stage mother” when it comes to his acting career.
Andre is following in the footsteps of his parents, Aiko and Jomari Yllana, in the entertainment industry. Although he is now 24 years old, he is still consulting his mother when it comes to the project that he will do.
In a recent press conference for the movie The Rain in España, based on the article in Abante, Andre showed that he appeared to be trained by his mother when it comes to dealing with the press people.
During the presscon, Andre Yllana revealed that Aiko Melendez does not want him to do kissing scenes for now. “Meron kami dapat na kissing scene sa ‘The Seniors’, tapos kinausap ako ni Mommy, ‘Oh ayaw ko pa niyan, ayaw ko pa ng ganyan. Hindi ko pa kaya, hindi ko pa kayang makita,’. Ganoon si Mommy,” he shared.
The actor told his mother that if they say no to this, eventually, projects will come that will require him to do a kissing scene. However, he still followed his mother. On the other hand, Andre said that he is ready to show some skin in the movie but he needs to prepare for this first.
He also said that his mother might not allow him to go out of their house once he will take off his clothes for a movie.
“Si Mommy, actually stage mother siya, pero in a good way. Hindi ‘yung stage mother na ikahihiya mo. Ano naman si Mommy, talagang supportive lang, gusto lang niya nasa tamang landas ako,” Andre said about his mother.
However, the actor said that he does not feel ashamed about this. He is actually proud of how his mother treats him because he knows not all mother-son relationship is like this.
