One of the country’s most popular lawmakers, Senator Grace Poe has made up her mind and will seek the Presidency in the upcoming 2016 national elections according to Senate sources despite the unresolved citizenship issues aganst her.
Sen. Grace Poe is scheduled to hold a press conference on Wednesday, durign which she is expected to announce her final plans for the ntional elections but it is still not clear if Sen. Francis Escudero would be her running mate, as the Senator wishes.
Despite the looming official announcement of Sen. Grace Poe’s presidential plans, the Malacanang and President Aquino downplayed the possibility of Sen. Grace Poe running against his annointed successor, former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas in the 2016 presidential elections.
President Aquino stated during the inauguration of Richmonde Hotel and the Iloilo Convention Center that the administration is not worried with Sen. Grace Poe’s presidential plans.
The President of the Republic of the Philippines, Pres. Aquino earlier said he has not given up trying to convince Poe to be the running mate of his chosen successor, Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Manuel Roxas II.
Aside from the President, Senate President Franklin Drilon, LP Vice Chairman, also said they have nothing to worry about Sen. Grace Poe’s impending announcemer of her plans in the upcoming 2016 natinal elections as he noted that Poe’s presidential run is unlikely to split the administration’s supporters.
