Dennis Trillo spoke about the recent issue involving his family
Kapuso drama king Dennis Trillo was asked if he was angry with seasoned actress Gelli de Belen, which was prompted by actor Patrick Garcia’s statement.
The issue started when Patrick had an interview on the YouTube channel of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz. Patrick cleared his name of the accusations that he abandoned Ultimate Star Jennylyn Mercado and their son, Jazz, stressing that his financial support just stopped when he was no longer seeing the child.
During the interview, Patrick also stressed that he was pushed to speak after 18 years because of the bashing that her daughter, Michelle, has been receiving because of his past issue.
Several personalities were dragged into the issue, including Gelli de Belen, who said she can’t blame Patrick Garcia for speaking up because he is just a father who is trying to defend his child. As a result, the seasoned actress faced bashing on social media, as netizens pointed out that Jazz is also Patrick’s child.
Dennis Trillo did not let this pass. He called out Gelli, stressing that they had been quiet for years, and then Patrick suddenly spoke, shading Jennylyn. The Kapuso drama king also criticized GTV’s Chika Cart for allegedly taking sides on this issue.
In an interview with PEP, Dennis was asked if he was angry with Gelli, to which he answered, “No.” He explained that it was just a natural reaction of a father who wanted to protect his family.
When asked about GTV’s statement, stressing that they are not biased, Dennis said that it’s a good thing, since hosts are supposed to be like that.
The award-winning actor also admitted that they were surprised about Patrick’s interview, as they did not expect it. Dennis said that Jazz’s father could have reached out to them personally and talked about what they needed to address.
“Sa totoo lang, wala namang problema doon,” Dennis said, adding that people deserve second chances. Their camp is also okay with the possibility that Patrick would reach out and patch things up, but Dennis Trillo said that right now, this might be difficult because of the issues that happened.
