She said, “Alam ko po ‘yong pinagdaanan namin dati. Hindi siya naging madali. ‘Yong buhay namin, napakahirap,” emphasizing how difficult their situation was.
Ryzza also shared a childhood incident where she accidentally touched a vase owned by their wealthy neighbor, which led to a hurtful remark that left a lasting impact on her young mind.
“Na-experience ko po noong bata po ako, meron pong kapitbahay kami na malaki ‘yong bahay. Tapos may balikbayan siyang apo na dumating,” she recalled.
She added, “Nakipaglaro po ako tapos medyo asagi po ‘yong vase. [Maliit] lang po ‘yong nabasag. Nasabihan po ako na, ‘Mas mahal pa ‘yan sa buhay mo!’”
The statement, Ryzza said, stayed with her for years and motivated her to work hard so she would never be looked down upon again in the future.
She later revealed a “plot twist” in her life, saying she eventually achieved success and even bought the very house of the neighbor who once belittled her, a moment she described as unforgettable. “Hindi ko po kinalimutan ‘yon. May plot twist ‘yon, Miss Toni. Noong nanalo po ako, nabili ko po ‘yong bahay nila,” she concluded.
