Panic Turns to Relief as Vilma Santos Responds to Dingdong Dantes Fire Alert
DINGDONG DANTES – A moment of alarm turned into reassurance when Dingdong Dantes spoke out about a suspected blaze near Mount Batulao.
Concerned over reports of a possible forest fire in Batangas, Dingdong Dantes took to social media to call the attention of local authorities regarding the situation near Mount Batulao.
In a Facebook post shared on Friday, April 3, the Kapuso Primetime King revealed that he had received a video of the incident from a friend living close to Barangay Cahil in Calaca. Alarmed by what he saw, the actor immediately decided to raise awareness online in hopes of prompting verification and response from concerned agencies.

“Sharing this immediate awareness, in case verification or response is needed,” Dingdong said in a post on Friday, April 3.
The post quickly gained traction, drawing attention from netizens who also expressed concern over the reported fire. However, not long after posting it, Dingdong deleted the post following direct communication from Batangas Governor Vilma Santos.
According to the actor, the governor personally reached out to assure him that authorities were already addressing the situation. This prompted Dingdong to take down his post to avoid causing unnecessary alarm or spreading unverified information.
“I received a message from Governor Vilma Santos shortly after I posted about what appeared to be a possible forest fire in Mount Batulao (or kung ano man exact location and name ng lugar). She confirmed that the proper authorities are already on top of the situation,” said Dingdong.
He added, “In light of this, I have taken down the post, as the matter has already been brought to the attention of the concerned agencies.”

Despite deleting the post, Dingdong expressed gratitude to the authorities for their swift response, as well as to netizens who helped amplify the initial report. His actions underscored the importance of vigilance and the responsible sharing of information, particularly during emergencies.
As the country observes Holy Week, Dingdong also took the opportunity to remind the public to remain cautious and prioritize safety during their observance of Semana Santa.
