Sofia Andres talked about her role in the new Kapamilya series
Kapamilya actress Sofia Andres said that her role in The Alibi: Ang Buong Katotohanan, is an inspiration for her.
In the series featuring the tandem of Kapamilya stars Kim Chiu and Paulo Avelino, Sofia portrayed the character of Claudia Cabrera, the wife of Vincent Cabrera (Paulo). This premiered in the Philippine primetime TV in March 2026 following its success on Prime Video.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Sofia admitted that her role, which gets involved in the mystery surrounding the murder of her affair partner, Walter Cunanan (Sam Milby), in this series, is inspiring for her because it challenges her both personally and professionally.
The actress also said that there were several reasons why this complex character resonates with her:
Initially, Sofia said that her character did not appeal to her. However, since her character is a mother, that changed her initial perception. “That’s how I fell in love with the character. Also, kasi meron siyang pamilyang prinotektahan,” the actress shared, highlighting how Claudia is as a mother.
Describing her character, Sofia said that Claudia is fierce, strong, and unfiltered, and with these qualities, portraying this role also broadened her perspective on relationships and personal growth.
The actress specifically mentioned that she realized love cannot be forced, especially if two people start growing in different directions.
Sofia Andres also said that with her character’s complex and intense personality, she has become more open to doing more antagonist roles.
When it comes to her growth as an actress, Sofia said that there was a balance between the intense and “kilig” scenes. She also mentioned that she would just prepare herself for the bashers of her character. “Even me myself, nanggigigil ako kay Claudia, so what more yung mga audience?” the actress said about her character.
