The prestigious title was recently announced by Esquire Philippines, which unveiled its special three-cover feature starring the award-winning actress on Tuesday, March 17.
During the unveiling event, Janine openly expressed her gratitude and disbelief over the recognition. “I’m so grateful and kilig that you guys chose to have me as your ‘Sexiest Woman Alive,’” she shared. The actress admitted that the honor came as a surprise but was something she quickly embraced. “I was super surprised, pero yes agad kasi I’m aware of the ‘Sexiest Woman Alive’ title.”
She also revealed that working with the magazine had long been one of her aspirations. “I always wanted to do an ‘Esquire’ cover and hindi ko magawa-gawa. So when I heard it was ‘Esquire’, I was excited to do it,” she added.
For Janine, being “sexy” goes beyond physical appearance. She described it as a deeper, more meaningful quality rooted in authenticity and courage. “Being brave and parang for me authentic to who you are as a woman, the good and the bad,” she explained.
