Willie Revillame almost fell for a scam
Wilyonaryo main host Willie Revillame revealed that he almost became a victim of a scam.
Willie or Kuya Wil is one of the richest celebrities in the Philippines. He owns several real estate properties, cars, helicopters, and a yacht. Over the years, he would give away big prizes. This was one of the reasons why, wherever his show is on, his avid fans continue to follow him.
In a recent episode of his show, Willie revealed something that caught the attention of the online community.
Based on the article in Abante, Willie Revillame almost became a victim of a scam. He warned his viewers against scammers. It was because he had his own experience.
The veteran TV host said that someone sent him a text message claiming that she was former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The said person was asking for financial help for an orphanage that was burned down. It was said that the former president even included him in her speech.
Then, the scammer gave an account number in which Willie could transfer his P500,000 donation. The TV host said that even Senator Imee Marcos was almost involved in the scam.
However, Willie became hesitant about this, and he was asked Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla if he also texted Willie because of the financial assistance the former President GMA allegedly asked.
Willie also learned from the person he asked that Sec. Remulla was not contacting him. Because of that, Willie reportedly forwarded the scammer’s number to the NBI. “Mag-ingat sa scammer!” Willie Revillame said.
Meanwhile, in a previous interview, Kuya Wil shared that he lost P1 billion because of casino gambling. He said that it was a learning experience for him.
