Rufa Mae Quinto asked Erik Santos, “Bakit ba tayo naghiwalay?”
Comedienne Rufa Mae Quinto revealed that this was the reason for her breakup with singer Erik Santos.
Rufa and Erik’s relationship began around 2006 and ended in 2007. Back then, there was no concrete statement that was shared regarding the cause of their separation. However, there was no conflict between them as they continued supporting each other.
Years later, their past romance was recalled, and it was during the episode of “Your Face Sounds Familiar” last Saturday, in which Rufa Mae was one of the contestants, and Erik was one of the judges, along with OPM icons Sharon Cuneta and Ogie Alcasid.
Abante entertainment columnist Jun Lalin wrote about this since his name got involved. During host Jhong Hilario, said that if there was something the comedienne wanted to say to Erik now that she did not say before, what would it be.
“Bakit ba tayo naghiwalay? Charot!” Rufa Mae laughingly said. However, before Erik could answer, the comedienne immediately changed the subject and asked her ex-boyfriend if he was really jealous back then.
Sharon also asked what the real reason was for their breakup and Rufa Mae said that she was just joking back then, and she narrated the story in which Jun Lalin was mentioned.
“Dahil si Jun Lalin, nag-text. Nag-text kasi siya… sabi niya sa akin… o na-meet ko yata, tapos sabi niya, ‘Kumusta kayo ni Erik? Kayo pa ba?’ Sabi ko, ”Di na, kami na ni Mark Bautista!’ Totoo ‘yan, tapos sinulat. Tapos nagselos!” she said.
Vhong Navarro, who is also a host of the show, asked the comedienne if it was just really a joke, and the latter answered, “Joke lang! Bakit ko naman dyodyowahin si Mark?!”
Lain said that Erik was hurt about that and said he wanted to leave. The columnist revealed that he received a lot of messages asking him about what Rufa Mae Quinto shared during the show, and telling him that he was the reason for their breakup, as the comedienne said.
For Lalin, it was crazy that his name was involved in the supposed reason for the breakup when it was the comedienne who told him about it.
“Ayan, she started a joke na sa kanya rin nag-boomerang at naging dahilan tuloy ng hiwalayan nila ni Erik, ‘noh?! So walang ibang dapat sisihin si Rufa Mae sa hiwalayan nila ni Erik kundi ang sarili niya, ha!” the entertainment columnist said.
