Pinky Amador Answers Darryl Yap’s Tirade After She Attended PBBM’s Party

Pinky Amador was asked about Darryl Yap’s post against her and Pokwang

Veteran actress Pinky Amador answered director Darryl Yap’s tirade after she and comedienne Pokwang attended President Bongbong Marcos’s party.

Pinky was one of the celebrities who attended the “Evening with the Stars.” She is known as one of the supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo, the opponent of PBBM in the 2022 elections.

This was the reason why Direk Darryl criticized Pinky and her fellow “kakampink” Pokwang, as their photo during the event circulated on social media.

“Dati akala ko, malakas na ang loob ko, akala ko makapal ang mukha ko—pero nung nakita ko ang pictures nila Pokwang at Pinky Amador sa paparty ni Bongbong Marcos,” the controversial director wrote in his post.

He also criticized Pokwang because of her past statement about Ella Cruz, who played Irene Marcos in the movie Maid in Malacanang.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Balita, Pinky Amador was asked to react to this. She explained why she attended the concert for the EDSA People Power Revolution I anniversary.

“Unang-una, isa ‘yong paggalang sa mga artista ng pinilakang-tabing at ng telebisyon. So I went there to honor my industry,” she explained. Then, her second reason was her aunt Zenaida Amador, or “Tita Bibot” who was the cultural mentor of the Marcos siblings.

Si Bibot ay isa sa founders ng “Repertory Philippines Foundation. I did that for her,” the veteran actress shared. For her third reason, Pinky cited that she knows the Marcoses.

“Dahil noong naka-exile po ang mga Marcos, madalas po silang pumunta sa London. Mahilig silang manood ng plays,” she revealed, adding that even before PBBM married First Lady Liza Marcos-Araneta, she already knew the Marcoses.

Then, Pinky stressed, “Para sa akin, parang kumbaga, parang… kinakamayan ka, sasampalin mo ba? O kakamayan mo lang? Just because kinamayan mo doesn’t mean I’m giving up my political beliefs. Kasi dapat maging mature na tayo. ‘di ba?”

She also stressed that when she attended the party, it did not mean that she forgot being “Pinky,” and this was just maturity. The actress added that one can still fight while still respecting the industry and giving respect to the president. “Wala tayong magagawa, siya talaga ang Presidente eh. Wala tayong magagawa ‘di ba?” Pinky Amador said.

Aside from Pinky and Pokwang, other celebrities who attended the party were Boots Anson Roa, Edu Manzano, Nikki Valdez, Cherry Pie Picache, and Maris Racal.
