Pooh tried to book domestic and international flights
Comedian Pooh showed proof that it is more expensive to travel within the Philippines than to go abroad.
The issue in the tourism industry in the country caught the attention of many netizens recently. To recall, Kapamilya host Bianca Gonzalez reposted a tweet from former COMELEC Commissioner Gregorio Larrazabal, in which he pointed out that it was cheaper to visit other ASEAN countries than to have a vacation in one of the tourist destinations in the Philippines.
Bianca agreed with this and even shared her own experience. She shared that they spent more money on their trip to Siargao than the time when they visited nearby countries such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Vietnam. With this, she said that it is hard to support the tourism industry in the Philippines.

Many netizens agreed with what the former COMELEC chairman and the Kapamilya host said. Pooh also nodded to this.
In a recent Facebook post that the comedian shared, he showed a screenshot of two flight bookings that he made.
He shared a price comparison on social media showing that a round-trip ticket from Manila to Catarman, Northern Samar, had a price of P17,398. On the other hand, a round-trip ticket from Manila to Hong Kong at the same time was only approximately P17,294 or $292.60.

“Sinubukan kong mag book ng Manila-Catarman-Manila and nag compare ako ng MANILA-HONGKONG-MANILA.. totoo nga ang tsismis! Halos pareho lang [rolling on the floor laughing emojis]. #NorthernSamarTourism #DOTR #NorthernSamar #PAL Jan 26 to 29 nag compare lang ako,” the comedian wrote in the caption of his post.
In the comment section, several netizens shared their own experiences when it comes to expensive airplane fares. A netizen even tagged Philippine Airlines, as well as the Department of Transportation, in one comment. Some netizens said that with this comparison, they would just prefer to travel abroad. Here are some comments.
