Atty. Laurence Arroyo, the legal counsel of Rason, said that the complaint is related to Barzaga’s Facebook post on January 9, in which the congressman allegedly implied that the businessman was involved in corruption in Congress.

Barzaga alleged that Razon bribed several members of the National Unity Party (NUP) to support former House Speaker Martin Romualdez in the 2025 midterm elections.

“The basis of this complaint of ours is precisely our position that what he said was false and malicious,” Razon’s lawyer said.
