WILLIE REVILLAME – After netizens questioned whether Willie Revillame’s anger was staged for virality, Ogie Diaz stepped in to give a more grounded perspective on the issue.
Showbiz insider Ogie Diaz recently offered his perspective and guidance for longtime TV host Willie Revillame after the latter’s on-air reprimand on his new program, “Wilyonaryo.” The topic gained traction after a video of Willie scolding members of his staff spread online and drew varied reactions from netizens.
In the most recent episode of “Showbiz Updates,” which aired on Friday, January 2, Ogie and his co-hosts discussed how viewers perceived Willie’s actions on the show. Online, some netizens questioned whether the host’s tough demeanor was deliberate and possibly aimed at gaining viral attention.
“‘Yong iba iniisip na ‘yan, e. Na parang feeling ni Willie, ‘Dito ako naba-viral, a. Kaya maggagalit-galitan ako oncam,’” Ogie said, addressing claims that Willie may have been intentionally acting angry for publicity.
Ogie, however, emphasized that Willie’s attitude was neither new nor fabricated. “Pero sa totoo lang,” he added, “consistent naman si Willie do’n. Lagi siyang nagagalit ‘pag hindi nasusunod ang gusto niya.” He explained that the host has long had a reputation for being strict, particularly when expectations are not met.
Still, Ogie stressed that Willie should be more mindful of showing his temper on camera. “Pangalawa, dapat daw hindi na pinapairal ni Willie ang init ng ulo oncam. Kasi siyempre, ang feeling ng mga tao, nagkakaroon ng impresyon na porke swelduhan sila, gaganunin mo sila on-air?” he said, pointing out that such moments could create a negative impression among viewers.
The showbiz insider also suggested that Willie surround himself with colleagues who are already familiar with and compatible with his work style. “Para alam nila ‘yong dynamics mo,” Ogie explained, “‘yong routine mo. Kasi ang hirap niyan na bago ‘yan sa paningin mo tapos magagalit ka. Tapos ‘pag ‘di nasunod [ang gusto mo] tatanggalin mo.”
He further mentioned Willie’s perceived tendency to quickly let go of staff during disagreements. “E, ang bilis pang magtanggal ng tao ni Willie,” Ogie remarked.
The conversation resurfaced following the circulation of a video clip from December 2025 showing Willie reprimanding members of the “Wilyonaryo” team, once again fueling public discussions about leadership style, professionalism, and proper conduct on television.
