The brother of Pokwang was involved in this recent issue
Kapuso comedienne Pokwang released an apology statement regarding a road rage incident involving her brother, Carlo Subong, and the “magkakariton” that had a conflict with spoke about what happened.
Pokie immediately released a video statement condemning the act that her brother had committed that went viral on social media. She stressed that she was not defending her brother and expressed that she wanted to reach out to the father and daughter.
Because of what happened, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) released a decision. Carlo Subong’s license was revoked, and a criminal case was filed against him for hitting the father and the daughter, and his car was impounded.
In a report, based on the article in PEP, Crispin Villamor, the “magkakariton,” aired his side. The incident happened in Barangay San Roque, Antipolo, Rizal, on December 13.
A video of this went viral, in which a man was trying to stop the driver from hitting Crispin while cursing at him. According to Crispin, he was pushing his “kariton” when a pickup truck was approaching. He said that his daughter was almost hit by the truck, and so when he tried to avoid it, his cart hit the pickup truck.
“Parang di niya po ako nakikita. Parang nung may bumangga na lang po ng sasakyan niya, saka lang po siya bumaba. Parang dun siya nabuhayan,” he said.
Crispin also shared the alleged threat that he received from the brother of Pokwang. “Sabi po niya papatayin niya po ako, ‘tapos babarilin,” he said.
More than the cursing that he received, Crispin said that it was painful for him as a father that his daughter was able to see the incident, and worse if he could not defend her.
Mary Grace Aquilino, the video uploader, said that if she were not able to record the incident, Carlo Subong would not stop. Her husband was the one who tried to stop Pokwang’s brother.
“Nag-antay po kaming mag-asawa mula umaga hanggang tanghali, baka mag-sorry [ang drayber], pero hindi po kasi nag-sorry… kaya naisipan ko po na i-post na lang, e.” she said.
