Tom Rodriguez Breaks Silence—Reveals Why He Won’t Work w/ Carla Abellana Again
TOM RODRIGUEZ – Fans were stunned when Tom Rodriguez admitted during a media conference that he has no desire to collaborate with Carla Abellana again.
Actor Tom Rodriguez, who stars in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry UnMarry, has candidly spoken about his stance on working with his former wife, Kapuso actress Carla Abellana. During the recently held media conference for the film, Tom openly admitted that collaborating with Carla again is something he no longer wants to pursue, emphasizing that he has already closed that chapter of his life.
Tom shared that he feels no need to revisit the past or reopen old wounds, saying, “For me, I’m okay with what I have. I’d rather, I’d rather not. I don’t need to revisit that.” His statement made it clear that while he harbors no ill feelings, he prefers to keep certain parts of his life behind him.
Beyond his personal boundaries, Tom also expressed well-wishes for Carla, who recently confirmed her engagement to her non-showbiz boyfriend. Showing maturity and grace, Tom extended his sincere hopes for her happiness. “I wish them well. I wish her well. Everyone deserves happiness, and we all deserve to move on. Kaya, I’m glad we’re all finally moving on,” he said.
According to Tom, he only learned about Carla’s engagement around the time of the media conference. He recalled how he reacted upon hearing the news, reaffirming that he supports her new chapter. “Recently ko lang nalaman because of this, because of this media con, and when I heard it nga, it’s an honest reaction, I wish her well, wish them well, and ‘yon nga I’m glad to know everyone is moving on. We all deserve it,” he added.
The former couple, once one of the most talked-about partnerships in showbiz, has long since gone its separate ways. Tom previously revealed that he is now happily married and living a quiet life abroad with his family. With both choosing peace and moving forward, it seems the two are finally finding closure and contentment in their respective journeys.
