Willie Revillame shared his thoughts on the recent issue between TV5 and ABS-CBN
Veteran TV host Willie Revillame has worked with ABS-CBN for many years, and with TV5 for his upcoming show.
He was one of the hosts of the defunct Kapamilya noontime show Magandang Tanghali Bayan, which became Masayang Tanghali Bayan, and eventually became MTB Ang Saya Saya before it ended in 2005.
The veteran TV host also hosted other variety shows. He previously partnered with GMA for his Wowowin show, until it transferred to ALLTV for a short stint.
Then, Willie Revillame partnered with TV5 for his Wil To Win show. However, this was paused when he decided to run for Senator in the 2025 elections, but unfortunately, he did not win.
Some issues surfaced regarding his TV comeback. Allegedly, TV5 rejected him. However, a report recently confirmed that Willie’s partnership with the Kapatid network pushed through. It was even said that Cignal and TV5 Chair Manny V. Pangilinan will provide a channel for Willie that will be called Wil TV, in which his new show Wilyonaryo will be aired.
Speaking about TV5, the network just recently announced its decision to terminate its partnership with ABS-CBN. The Kapatid network reportedly was not able to receive payments from the Kapamilya network, which has reached almost a billion pesos.
In a statement, ABS-CBN highlighted the struggles the company has been encountering since it lost the franchise. However, the Kapamilya network promised its viewers that it would continue to provide content.
Based on the report from DZRH, Willie Revillame was asked about the recent issue between the two networks. He said that as he went through this situation, it was saddening. For him, the more channels, the more shows that could provide happiness and extend help to many people.
“Kaya lang syempre dumarating yung time na hindi natin alam yung ibig sabihin ng nangyayari. Ako naman, sana magtuloy-tuloy pa rin na makapagbigay saya yung Kapamilya, Kapuso, at Kapatid,” Willie Revillame.
