Malupiton’s On-Air Slip: Live TV Profanity Gets Him Banned from MPBL

Malupiton’s Viral Profanity Leads to Immediate MPBL Ban

MALUPITON – What was supposed to be a simple on-cam greeting turned chaotic when Malupiton blurted out a curse word on national TV.

Social media personality Malupiton, also known as Joel Ravanera, has publicly apologised after uttering profanity during a live interview on the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The incident, which quickly gained traction online, occurred during a segment where Malupiton was invited to greet viewers on national television.

During the live broadcast, the content creator enthusiastically addressed the audience. However, things took an unexpected turn when he said, “Yown, binabati ko pala kayong lahat, guys, naririnig n’yo ba ‘ko? Puk*ng-ina n’yo, boys!” The remark shocked both viewers and MPBL staff, as it was immediately clear that the statement was inappropriate for live TV.

Realising he had sworn on air, Malupiton was visibly stunned and instinctively covered his mouth. The MPBL, taking the matter seriously, swiftly decided to ban him from the league. The move was intended to uphold professionalism and maintain the decorum expected during live broadcasts, especially given the league’s broad family-oriented audience.

Following the controversy, Malupiton released a video on his social media accounts to explain his side of the story. He emphasised that the outburst was unintentional and stemmed from a misunderstanding regarding the nature of the interview.

According to him, he believed the segment was simply being recorded for online content. As he clarified, “Wala kasing nabanggit sa akin na naka-live pala ‘yon, ‘di ba? Hindi namin alam na naka-live. Tsaka akala ko sa content lang, ‘yung mga pages na sports, mga ganu’n ganu’n.”

He added that he had no idea the interview was being aired on television, saying, “Wala akong idea talaga na naka-live sa TV, na napapanood ng iba. Hindi ko alam na ganoon. E wala, nabitawan ko na. sorry guys. Sorry guys, sa akin.”

While the MPBL’s decision remains firm, Malupiton’s apology has drawn mixed reactions from the public. Some netizens sympathised with him, noting that content creators often operate in casual environments, while others stressed the importance of knowing broadcast protocols. The incident continues to spark discussion across social media platforms.
