Luis Manzano Breaks His Silence: Why He’s Completely Done With Politics

The Real Reason Luis Manzano Won’t Run in 2028

LUIS MANZANO – Kapamilya actor and TV host Luis Manzano has finally addressed his political future, revealing why he has no plans of running again after experiencing a difficult post-election period.

Luis Manzano has made it clear that he no longer sees himself returning to politics after his unsuccessful bid for vice mayor of Batangas. Following his defeat in his first attempt, the Kapamilya actor and TV host revealed that running again in the 2028 elections is no longer part of his plans.

Instead, Luis is choosing to focus fully on his entertainment career and on nurturing his growing family with wife Jessy Mendiola. “As of now, my main focus ay balik sa pagho-host, to take care of my family. Marami pa rin akong itutulong din naman sa Batangas.

“Pero if we talk about running again, hindi ko na naiisip,” he shared during a thanksgiving press conference held on Tuesday, December 2.

Luis admitted that the aftermath of the elections took a toll on him, leading to a period of confusion and uncertainty. “Honestly hindi ko na naiisip (tumakbo uli). Siguro after everything na we went through, everything that’s going on and chances are will still go on, para sa akin I found my niche once again, actually right after the campaign, right after the election, for a while medyo I was lost.”

He also opened up about losing endorsements when he decided to enter politics, which he completely understood. “Kahit nandiyan ang ibang proyekto natin to be perfectly honest, noong tumakbo ako may mga endorsement na nawala na naiintindihan ko naman.

“Very understandable for business reasons bigla na lang they had to keep their distance sa akin.”

Despite challenges—including being linked to a scam that was later proven false—Luis shared that everything eventually fell back into place. “Tapos nangyari ang mga bagay-bagay… then after parang everything started to place right away.

“Parang ayaw ko nang sayangin din iyong opportunity kasi not everyone is given a second chance na manumbalik sa industriya.”

He expressed deep gratitude to brands that continued to trust him. “Ito mula sa puso ko… kahit things didn’t go our way eh, hindi nawala ang tiwala nila sa akin.”

With new endorsements and projects lined up—including “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0” and “Rainbow Rumble”—Luis reaffirmed his commitment to entertainment, saying he no longer wants to risk that trust. “But if we talked running again, hindi ko na naiisip.”
