Leni Robredo Says She’ll Join Anti-Corruption Rally

Mayor Leni Robredo aired her view on the corruption issue

Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo said in a recent interview that she will join the upcoming anti-corruption rally.

Robredo is one of the most prominent political figures in the Philippines. She served as the 14th vice president of the country. After her term in 2022, she ran for president with Senator Kiko Pangilinan as her running mate. However, they both did not win. This broke the hearts of their many supporters.

For three years, Robredo took a rest from the political arena and came back in the 2025 midterm elections, in which she won as the mayor of Naga City.

In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Mayor Leni Robredo expressed her desire to be at the anti-corruption rally.

Pupunta ako pero sa tabi-tabi lang. Feeling ko kasi ‘pag mga ganito, private. Dapat private sector. Dapat hindi pumapapel ang mga taga-gobyerno,” the former Vice President said.

She also said that she wants to show that people of Naga City support this kind of action, but the safety of the participants should be prioritized.

However, Robredo clarified that she will not join the rally, which will be held in Manila. She stressed that she is supporting the activity, but she will not be in Luneta during the rally.

Paglilinaw lang dahil maraming nagtatanong. Mali po ang news article na ito ng News5 claiming na kinumpirma ko na dadalo ako sa Nov 30 Rally sa Manila. Hindi ko po yun sinabi during my regular Monday morning presscon,” the Mayor said.

She added that she is very supportive of the 2nd Trillion Peso March that will be held in Naga. Just like the previous one, she will join again, but she will just in the sidelines. The Mayor also shared that the City Government is ready to secure the event and provide the needed things.

This meant that she will join the rally on November 29 in Naga and that the national rally in November 30. It was previously reported that there will be two separate rallies that will be held in Metro Manila.

Meanwhile, Mayor Leni Robredo was asked about her plan in the 2028 elections. She said that she will just be in Naga City.
