Kiko Pangilinan Drops Bombshell: Public Urged to Push Leni Robredo Toward 2028 Presidential Run
KIKO PANGILINAN – Sen. Kiko Pangilinan has ignited fresh buzz in the political scene after publicly urging Filipinos to convince Leni Robredo to run for president once again.
Sen. Kiko Pangilinan has joined the growing number of Filipinos calling on former Vice President Leni Robredo to once again seek the presidency. Despite Robredo’s earlier remarks that running for president is no longer part of her plans, many continue to express hope that she will reconsider and return to national politics.
Robredo, now serving as the mayor of Naga City, recently emphasised her desire to focus on local governance rather than the national political arena. As she stated, “‘Naku,’ dito na lang ako (sa Naga), ang dami-daming problemang dapat asikasuhin dito. Mas magagawa nating ayusin dito. Sila na lang doon (sa national politics), ang gugulo nila,” highlighting her preference to address the pressing concerns of her city rather than re-engage in what she described as the chaos of national politics.
Following this statement, Kiko Pangilinan appealed to the public to convince the Naga City mayor to reconsider her stance ahead of the 2028 national elections. Through a Facebook post, the husband of Megastar Sharon Cuneta shared his thoughts as discussions on governance and leadership intensify online. He noted that while calls of “BBM, resign” have been gaining traction, he hopes that the public would amplify the clamour for Robredo to consider running for president again.
The senator also shared an art card from BANDERA that featured Robredo’s earlier statement about choosing peace over national political turmoil and expressing contentment in her mayoral role. In his caption, Sen. Kiko explained the gravity of the nation’s situation and underscored the need for genuine leadership.
His message read, “Saan tayo patungo? Ano kaya ang solusyon sa gulo? Magulo nga sa ngayon.
“At sa gulo ng sitwasyon sa bansa ngayon, dapat lang na ang panawagan ay ikulong ang mga kurakot!
“At sa panawagan na ‘Bbm resign’ naman, mas gugustuhin ko na ang panawagan na kumbinsihin natin lahat si Leni na magbago ng isip, tumakbo muli bilang Pangulo sa susunod na halalan at sama sama natin idalangin na pumayag sya para sa bayan, para sa tapat at totoong pamumuno.
“Sya nawa.”
As supporters continue to express admiration for Robredo’s leadership, Pangilinan’s call adds to the mounting pressure for the former vice president to reconsider her political future.
