Kylie Padilla’s Hardcore Parenting Move While Travelling Abroad

KYLIE PADILLA – Handling two energetic youngsters in a foreign country isn’t easy, but Kylie Padilla explained how she makes it work through structure, communication, and love.

Kylie Padilla recently gave fans an intimate look at how she handles international travel as a hands-on mom, sharing the real effort involved in exploring different countries with her two sons—completely without a yaya. In a candid Instagram post, the actress talked about the realities of travelling with kids, highlighting that her biggest strategy is staying fully attentive to their needs.

As she explained, “I get a lot of questions on how I handle two young kids while traveling to other countries and no yaya. Simple, full on mama mode ako.”

For Kylie, every trip starts with one non-negotiable: keeping her kids safe. She said she’s always thinking ahead—making sure they eat enough during long walks, guiding them on proper hygiene, and staying ready “24/7 in how to handle a tantrum, or two at the same time.” She admitted that meltdowns are part of the journey, especially when children are outside their comfort zone.

Communication is equally important in her parenting method. Kylie shared that talking with her sons helps her understand “what they might be thinking and feeling because that matters too,” allowing her to navigate their emotions with greater understanding.

Another challenge she deals with is managing their boundless energy. Her solution, she said, is giving them space to express themselves. She shared that the “secret really is to give them their yes moments,” letting them play freely and burn off excitement. Still, in busy or potentially risky areas, she enforces firm rules—requiring them to hold onto her arm or use an “anti lost rope” so they stay close at all times.

Kylie Padilla also expressed how proud she was of her eldest, Alas, for taking on extra responsibility. “I told him, ‘Ikaw kuya ha, so you have to help me with your brother.’ And he did.” He took charge of his own maleta, helped carry bags, kept an eye on his sibling, and earned roller-coaster rides as a reward. For Kylie, it reinforces her belief that “Parent child relationships work better when there is visible appreciation for each other’s efforts.”

Her younger son, Axl, also did his part by listening carefully—especially after a conversation about the risks of getting lost, a lesson she considers essential for kids learning to navigate the world.
