Despite the loud criticisms from bashers and online detractors, Kapuso host-actress Shuvee Etrata remains unwavering and determined. The former “Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition” participant has been the target of heavy backlash from netizens, largely because of her vocal support and defense of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Even so, Shuvee continues to look at life positively. She finds comfort in the strong online backing of her supporters, many of whom consistently stand up for her amid the negativity. This encouragement has allowed her to stay grounded and push forward confidently despite the harsh remarks directed at her.
Shuvee Etrata recently delighted her followers by sharing that she went on a family trip to Japan. For Shuvee, the vacation became a crucial mental break following the series of bullying and online attacks she experienced. “Kasama ko ‘yung tita ko doon parang as my way of giving back to them kasi they’re the first people talaga who believed in me,” she said during her “24 Oras” interview.
Shuvee also showed deep appreciation for her fans and supporters who attended her fan meet in Quezon City. The event lifted her spirits and provided her with emotional support during a challenging time. “Thank you for your effort, time, and love. Sa lahat ng hirap sa mga panahong tahimik, sa panahong sobrang saya. There were times na gusto ko na sumuko or I doubted myself,” she expressed.
She then followed her message with a striking line that quickly caught the attention of many: “Bakit ako susuko ang ingay n’yo.”
Her parents, Michael and Jorena Etrata, were also present at the gathering, proudly celebrating their daughter’s growing accomplishments. Mrs. Jorena remarked, “Nakikita ko naman na nag-e-enjoy siya. Sinasabi ko sa kanya na ‘Anak alagaan mo lang ‘yung sarili mo ‘tsaka mahalin niya lang ‘yung trabaho niya.’”
Despite the controversies, Shuvee continues to receive new opportunities in her career. She acknowledges that “PBB Celebrity Collab Edition” played a significant role in opening doors for her. One of her upcoming projects is the horror film “Huwag Kang Titingin,” where she will be working alongside Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay, Marco Masa, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Josh Ford, Kira Balinger, Charlie Fleming, and her persistent suitor, Anthony Constantino.
