Catriona Gray expressed what she felt about the current situation of the Philippines
Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray aired her frustrations about what is happening in the Philippine government right now.
Catriona has inspired and made many Filipinos proud when she became the fourth Pinay Miss Universe. Many pageant fans had expressed that she had set the bar higher for being a true beauty queen. She is known for fighting for what she believes in and promoting her advocacy intently.
Catriona is also known for being brave when it comes to calling out whoever needed to be called out. She showed care and sympathy for the country and her fellow Filipinos.
With the recent corruption issue that has been happening in the country, Catriona Gray also shared her thoughts. Based on the report from the Pilipino Star Ngayon Digital Facebook page, the beauty queen aired her frustrations on her Instagram broadcast channel.
She asked if the majority of the Filipinos’ taxes can go directly to aid the communities and those who are in need of relief, while the whole country is waiting for justice to be served regarding the misuse of public funds and for a system to be put in place that the people can actually trust.
“I know I’m not the only one who’s frustrated pero GRABE,” Catriona expressed. She also asked what has been done to break down and rebuild the broken system, which is already obvious.
“I don’t know about you guys, pero wala na talaga akong trust sa government natin. They continually prove to us how little care they give for the people,” she stressed.
Then, Catriona Gray pointed out that those who are being called “public servants” are living like royalty and the Filipino people are their servants.
On the other hand, the beauty queen said that she refused to give up on being hopeful. She is also hoping that someday, that change can come. However, she stressed that she no longer trusts the current government in the Philippines to create that chance that the Filipinos deserve.
