Bato dela Rosa shared this post amid the recent issue about him
Senator Bato dela Rosa revealed that he visited a priest, his spiritual adviser, to seek guidance.
The lawmaker currently has an issue as reports surfaced that the International Criminal Court (ICC) released an arrest warrant against him. This came months after former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested by the ICC.
Dela Rosa was the chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) during the Duterte administration. They have been allies for many years already. Even before Duterte became the President in 2016, they had long been friends.
Previously, the Department of Justice (DOJ) stated that the agency is obligated to execute the ICC arrest warrant. Senate President Tito Sotto said that they will not allow any arrest within the premises of the Senate, but beyond their jurisdiction, they are no longer in control.
With the reported arrest warrant against Dela Rosa, his fellow lawmaker Senator Ping Lacson said that he hoped to talk to him with the intention of sharing some legal advice on how to face the legal charges against him.
In a Facebook post on November 13, Sen. Bato dela Rosa shared his photos with priest Cianno Ubod of Compostela Parish Church, Cebu. “Times like these, we need to seek some guidance from our spiritual adviser. Thank you Father Ciano,” the senator wrote in the caption of his post.
In the comment section, his supporters expressed their support for him. Some netizens also attested to how the priest is known for fighting against corruption, while some netizens said that he should not allow the ICC to detain him.
