Gretchen Ho highlighted what their cameraman did
TV5 news anchor Gretchen Ho commended their cameraman, Mac Ortiz, for delivering the news amid typhoon Uwan.
On Sunday, November 9, the super typhoon almost covered the whole Philippines. The Luzon region was greatly affected. During this kind of calamity, television networks deploy their news and current affairs teams to cover and report the latest updates.
Gretchn, along with his fellow news anchor Ed Lingao, brought the latest updates on typhoon Uwan through live reporting from their correspondents in affected areas.

When they called their field correspondent in Albay, Ed introduced Marc Ortiz, cameraman. Even though this was not Mac’s nature of work, with his obvious nervousness but with a willingness to deliver an update, he became a reporter for the first time.
This caught the attention of many viewers and netizens. They lauded Mac for going beyond his initial responsibility, just to give the news that people need to hear.

In a Facebook post, Gretchen Ho praised their cameraman. He called Mac multitalented. The female news anchor also boasted that the cameraman was with them when they covered the West Philippine Sea.
“Where else do you see a cameraman reporting?! Proud of our multi-talented Mark Andrew Ortiz! He can shoot, photograph, fly a drone, edit stories, and also report?! Kasamahan namin ‘to sa West Philippine Sea! Tunay na matapang,” Gretchen wrote in the caption of her post featuring a netizen’s post commending Mac Ortiz.
This post that Gretchen Ho reposted has already received 146 thousand reactions, over 8 thousand shares, and 1.4 thousand comments. Good job! This man needs a recognition,” a netizen commented.
