Karen Davila shared this post talking about SALN
Veteran journalist Karen Davila shared her thoughts on the Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth, or SALN, released by Senators.
Following the guidelines of the Ombudsman regarding SALN, lawmakers released their SALNs. Polarizing reactions were expressed after this.
Some Filipinos said that this is a good thing for politicians to be transparent; however, some stressed that the credibility of the documents is still questionable.

Karen Davila also shared a piece of her mind on this matter, based on the article in Balita. Through her post on X, formerly Twitter, the veteran journalist stressed that there is nothing wrong with having money, but they should make sure that it is from their own pockets.
“The SALNs are out. I hope our public officials stop under declaring their wealth by technicality making themselves appear ‘poorer’ than they truly are. This will bite you in the a** one day,” she wrote.
Karen also stressed that being wealthy is okay as long as the money is not from government funds.
The veteran journalist also had an intriguing post. “I hope we don’t end up with a reenacted budget,” she wrote. Then, her next words talked about what her sources told her.
“My sources tell me yung flood control nilipat lang ng kongreso sa ayuda. The ‘slush fund’ remains. Sana naman bumili na sila ng konsensya,” Karen said.

Meanwhile, Karen Davila received praise from the online community last August. It was during the time when the interviews of her fellow veteran journalists, Korina Sanchez and Julius Babao, with contractors Curlee and Sarah Discaya resurfaced. Sources said that Karen refused the Discayas’ offer to be interviewed on her YouTube channel.
To recall, Korina and Julius received bashing for allegedly receiving monetary favors from the Discaya couple when they featured them on their respective YouTube channels.
