Gladys Reyes was asked about politics
Prima Kontrabida Gladys Reyes said that politics is a mess and that she would never see herself in the political arena.
Gladys has been in the entertainment industry for four decades already. She started young as an actress and became one of the most prominent “kontrabida” stars in the Philippine entertainment industry.
The actress is happy and satisfied being a villain in movies and TV series. With this, in a recent interview, she said that she is happy being a villain in movies and teleseryes and that she doesn’t want to be a villain of ‘thieves.’
“Oo, pwede naman, ‘di ba? Gladys Reyes, Kontrabida ng mga Magnanakaw. Pero, hindi, hindi po. Hindi ko talaga ‘yan pinangarap. Unang-una, ang gulo-gulo dyan,” she said.
Gladys Reyes also said that everyone has their calling, and for her, politics was not intended for her. She also admitted that she never entertained the thought of entering politics.
The actress, just like many Filipinos, also felt angry with what is happening in the country now, with all the corruption issues. She said that it was like a domino effect as she saw around her. However, she is also thinking of what she could do to help or find a solution since the problem has been happening for a long time already.
“So, ayun nakakalungkot, lalo na bilang magulang. Nakakalungkot na, ano ba ito, hanggang kelan ba ito?” she remarked.
Gladys expressed sadness that it could last so long and would extend until their children’s time. With this, the actress said that all she can do is to pray that everything will fall into place and be on the right track.
Meanwhile, Gladys Reyes shared that she does not want to just be a “kontrabida” in her future projects. She said that she wants to be a “bida-kontrabida” or something like the lead character in the movie Gone Girl.
