Kim Atienza received this negative comment from a netizen
Kapuso host Kuya Kim Atienza had this reply to a netizen who criticized him as a father to social media personality Emman Atienza.
Emman gained traction in the online community through her brave and funny TikTok videos showing her authenticity. She was not afraid to say her thoughts on social and political issues.
With this, she received polarizing comments from netizens. Some may have shown support, while some became her constant basher. Emman had been open about her struggles when it comes to her mental health.

This had consumed her and eventually, resulted in her tragic death. On October 24, Kim Atienza and his family confirmed that Emman, at 19, passed away. A report from Hollywood LA News pointed out that the cause of death was that she took her own life.
In an Instagram post on Instagram after confirming his daughter’s death, Kuya Kim Atienza shared a video of Emman singing.
His caption featured a Bible verse saying, “The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” Then, the Kapuso his said, “Thank you for the 19 years of my dearest little emmansky Lord.”
Kuya Kim and his family received love and support from many netizens. They shared their heartwarming messages and words of encouragement for the grieving family.
However, there was a netizen named “Joy” on social media who “scolded” Kuya Kim as a parent. The netizen pointed out that the Kapuso host wrongly used the Scripture just to fit his narrative.

Joy said that it was Emman’s choice to take her own life and this was not taken by God, adding that this should prompt the TV host to “repent for the ways he may have fallen short as a parent.”
Joy also stressed that this was an open rebuke because for her, Kuya Kim should have been Emman’s primary protector, teacher, and guide. “Tragically, she was left without the support she needed from the one who was supposed to be her anchor,” the netizen said.
Then, Joy cited what was written on Proverbs 22:6. For her, it was a message for parents that it is a sin for failing to follow this.
Kuya Kim Atienza replied to this with, “Joy, you are an evangelical bully. My Emman did not make that choice as clearly as you make choices. My Emman was clinically depressed.”
