People took advantage of the death of Emman Atienza
Sparkle GMA Artist Center has stated that the fake fundraising for their artist Emman Atienza, who passed away at the age of 19, was untrue.
Emman’s family, led by her father, Kapuso host Kuya Kim Atienza, announced on October 24 that she passed away. Reports surfaced that she ended her own life. She was open about her mental health struggle.
Days before her death, Emman had an update to her fans on her broadcast channel. She shared the reason why she deactivated her TikTok account, and it was because of the massive amount of bashing that she received for speaking her mind.

Kuya Kim had a heartfelt post about his daughter he called “my Emman.” He did not bow down to a basher who scolded him about being a father. Several celebrities showed support for the Atienza family, and they also emphasized the importance of dealing with mental health issues.
Following Emman Atienza’s death, Sparkle GMA Artist Center released a statement regarding the fake fundraising.
In a Facebook post by Sparkle on Saturday, October 25, the Kapuso management company clarified that they have no knowledge of any of the Atienza family in the widespread solicitation for Emman’s burial.
“The Atienza Family would like to clarify that they are not, in any way, associated with any activities, solicitations, or collections being conducted in relation to the wake or passing of their beloved Emman,” Sparkle stressed.
The Kapuso talent management company added, “We kindly ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy as they mourn and honor the memory of Emman during this difficult time.”

Meanwhile, after Emman’s death, actress Jane de Leon shared a post about online hate. The Kapamilya actress stressed that after a week of posting about mental health, people will start the bashing once again.
